Designed for solar water pumping 

PS2 was designed from the initial whiteboard sketches to be a solar pumping system. The system was designed and built by an engineering team that focuses exclusively on solar water pumping. This expertise means they design, test, and build systems where operation in the harshest and most remote environments is standard practice. 

PS2 is designed for field service; the pump unit components and electronics are modular to allow for cost-effective and quick replacement. 

Maximum efficiency 

All PS2 systems utilize a unique sensorless, brushless DC motor called ECDRIVE. This motor is a perfect match for solar applications, as it boasts very high efficiency across its entire operating range. This is quite different from a small AC motor where maximum efficiency is only achieved within a narrow operating band. 

Solar energy is constantly changing throughout the day and depending on weather conditions. The LORENTZ ECDRIVE and PS2 have an average daily efficiency of over 90%, while most of our competitors achieve 65% under clear blue skies and much less when it's cloudy. 

Solar Powered Pump System – The Complete Solution 

PS2 is designed as a complete solar water pumping system, comprising a specialized pump controller and carefully matched pumps. PS2 has eight sensor inputs, allowing for the connection of both analog and digital sensors. This combination of sensors with the built-in software applications enables comprehensive pump control and management of specific water-related applications. 

The system also has a built-in SunSensor that measures available solar radiation and then makes decisions based on the available energy. The SunSensor also prevents unnecessary start-stop cycles that increase wear and tear on the pump. 

 CONNECTED 

The system is configured on-site using PumpScanner, an Android™-based application used by the installer. Common setup is completed in three clicks, and there is full access to configure system behavior based on additional sensor inputs. 

The PS2 constantly records operational data and provides access to extensive information for both customers and technicians. 

The PS2 can also connect to our managed service, pumpMANAGER. This is a simple monthly subscription service that eliminates the complexity of remote monitoring and administration. A low fee means you can see exactly what the system is doing, make configuration changes, and receive alerts, regardless of your location.
